Dakota Skye was definitely one of a kind. We worked with her for a short period of time, but we were always happy to see her at tradeshows and other work events. She had a very bright light inside her and was sweet. She dealt with two issues that plague our industry–depression and bullying. It was recently discovered that Dakota died from a fentanyl overdose from drugs she took. Before her death, she was being bullied pretty hard, which could have lead to a relapse. Dakota definitely had her demons, but she was always trying to turn her life around. Sadly, she’s gone. Our hope is that the industry will take depression and bullying more seriously, and her death won’t be in vain.
